Access Statement for Bridge Inn
Introduction
The pub is set just outside the picturesque village of Acle situated right on the river Bure with views over rolling fields. We have a large oval restaurant which is a converted Kiln refurbished in 1961.
We have a large bar area and a function room.
Pre-Arrival
There is both a train station and bus stops situated in the Acle area which run from early morning to late evening every day every half hour.
The train station is 45minute walk or a 5minute taxi ride available by pre-booking.
The bus stop is a 25minute walk from the center of Acle the pub.The nearest shop is over the bridge but seasonal onlyAcle is 1 mile away where there is a high street with a selection of shops including a post office.

Car Parking & Mooring Facilities
We open the doors at 11am every day (breakfast 8:30-10 in season contact for dates and details) and serve food from 12noon
We have a large tarmac car park with marked spaces and disabled parking bays
Along the river there is space for up to 16 boats (depending on size) with limited electric hook up points (charges for over night mooring and electric hook up apply £4 each)
There is also space for another 20+ boats situated over the bridge 2minutes walk away.
Main Entrance Car Park & Riverside
The car park door is 80cm wide with a ramp down inside to the bar area
There is 11 tables in this area for eating and drinking
The riverside door is 80cm and has a 17cm step up before entering the other end of the bar
All areas are carpeted
The restaurant is situated near the car park door it has a 9cm step in
(removable ramp is available for wheelchair access)
There is a slope down to the function room which has large double door 135cm and access to garden via another double door 170cm with a 6.5cm door step
The pub closes when every customer leaves after we stop serving 11pm Monday to Saturday 10:30pm Sundays
Public Areas
All areas have been redecorated over late 2009 early 2010 and bring a warm and cozy feel to the place.
Carpeted throughout
There is adequate lighting through out the building

There is a fire place in the bar area (lit in winter months)
Dog bowls are available on request
Dogs are welcome in all areas except the restaurant
Children are welcome in all areas
We have a large Marquee suitable for outside dinning
There is walk ways along both the river and the road for taking dogs
There are hooks to hang coats near the car park door and in the restaurant
Public WCs
There are 2 sets of toilets in the building one situated near the restaurant the other near the function room
Ladies toilets near the function room have baby changing facilities and a disabled toilet
Ladies are carpeted gents are tiled
Function room toilets doors are 76cm
Restaurant toilets doors are 74cm
All toilets have hand dryers
Restaurant / Bar Areas
The bar area is in 2 halves the first has 6 tables with seating for up to 26 the second has 5 tables with seating for up to 24 both have mixture of carver and normal chairs
The restaurant has 12 tables and seating for 52 with no carvers
The function room has 7 tables and seating for 26 with a mixture of chairs
Food is served 12noon – 9pm (breakfast 8:30-10 in season contact for dates and details)
We have a large Marquee situated on the patio for outside dinning
Waitress service is offered in the winter in the restaurant, summer months food is ordered at the order points at restaurant entrance and small bar
We have quiet background music playing in the building and do occasionally have live performances on special occasions ask for details
Parts of the bar do have low ceilings and between the two areas is a beam 182cm (6”)
The bar is 105cm high
We do cater for people with allergies and dietary requirements, we also have a gluten free menu available
High chairs are available
Shop
There is a small seasonal shop over the other side of the bridge
25minute walk into Acle there is a selection of shops including news agents post office and small supermarket
Acle is 1.5 miles to the center
Conference & Meeting Rooms, Banqueting
The function room can be hired out for meeting and conferences
There is a 52” TV with both S-video and phono connections for presentations (leads not provided)
There is good lighting in this room

Toilets are situated outside the door of the function room
Grounds & Gardens
At the front of the building there is a grassed areas with 4 benches along the river
At the rear of the building is 21 benches and additional tables in the garden along with a pool table
There is a children’s play area with ride on bikes and a crazy golf course
Situated next to the play area is amusements arcade with a selection of games including air hockey 2p pushers prize crane and dance mat machine
There is a concrete path that goes around the building and path up to the river
You can also walk round the building straight into the garden

Duty Managers are available at any time on request
There is a No smoking policy any where in the building but feel free to go into the gardens where ashtrays are provided
We offer free Wi-Fi to all customers
Dogs and children are welcome
You are welcome to store any medication or special dietary foods in the fridge in the kitchen as long as it is labeled clearly
Mobile phone reception is poor in areas of the building but stronger outside
