Access Statement for Lifeboat Inn
Introduction
The hotel is set in a peaceful country village with beautiful views of the marshes and the wash of the North Sea, we have 13 rooms offering double, twin or family rooms.
The hotel has been welcoming guests since the 16th Century and while we aim to meet the needs of all guests there are some period features which might make access difficult for people with limited mobility. We look forward to welcoming you to the Lifeboat Inn and making your stay an enjoyable one.
Pre-Arrival
The main train station is Kings Lynn which is about 45minutes away by car. Taxis are usually available at the station but we can book one in advance if required
The nearest shop/post office is a 5-7 minute walk
The nearest town Hunstanton is approx 4 miles
The nearest bus stop is about a 10-15 minute walk away, buses only run hourly and the service stops early in the evening

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
To ensure your accommodation is ready we ask that guest do not check in till 3pm
Earlier arrival may however be possible by prior arrangement
Parking is on shingle (gravel) at the front of the building, no marked parking bays, but there is ample room for all cars
We offer assistance with luggage
There are walk ways to the main Reception
You do have to cross a quiet road from the car park

The front door has one step 10.5cm high
The door is 72.5cm wide
There is seating provided in the lounge area
The front desk is immediately in front of you when entering second door
The second door has a step down 6cm
Third step down into the lounge is 6.5cm
The reception desk is 107cm high
The main restaurant and bar are accessed from the lounge, there is one step 10cm high to access the restaurant
The floor surface throughout the reception and lounge is carpet, and tiles in the bar
The front door is closed at 11pm. If guests are going out for evening and returning late we can arrange a front door key

Corridors have a good colour contrast and are well lit
The flooring through the building is carpet and tiles
The covering on stairs and upstairs corridor is carpet
The breakfast room and one bedroom are on the ground floor
There are 14 stairs to the landing, followed by 1 stair down to one room, 2 stairs up to another one and 3 stairs up to 9 rooms, with light fire doors

There is a small step from the lounge into the dinning room
There is adequate lighting in the lounge and up the stairs

There are 2 sets of public toilets. One at the end of the restaurant, and one at the end of the bar area

There is a cloakroom for coats
One toilet is at the far end of the restaurant, it is carpeted through the restaurant then carpeted when entering first door (73cm wide), then tiled when you go through second door (73cm), then tiled in the toilet, the toilet height is 44cm, and the sink 78cm high and the hand dryer is 113cm high
One toilet is at the far end of the building, first door width 75cm, doorway width into toilet 73cm, toilet height 43cm, sink 93cm high and the hand dryer 128cm high

Guest are welcome to use the lounge anytime between 8am and 11.30pm

A selection of local information is available in the front porch
Breakfast is served in the main restaurant
The main course of breakfast is waitress served, cereals and fruit juice are self services but could be served on request
There are chairs with arms and without which can be moved to accommodate
We have a large and small conservatory both with tiled flooring
Waitress service is offered in the large conservatory
We do not play music in any area of the hotel unless stated when booking accommodation
Menus can be provided in large print on request
The bar is situated on the ground floor the height of the bar is 105cm, it has an 8cm step high
to access the far end area of the building the floor is tiled
We are able to cater for dietary needs, please advise member of staff on booking
The restaurant is on the ground floor which is reached through the lounge/bar area
The restaurant is table service only
Lighting for evening meals is low level with candles on the tables
All the seating and tables throughout the building are moveable
Any allergies or special dietary requirements can be catered for in advance
High chairs are available

Non-available in Hotel, but please ask us for anything you may have forgotten to bring i.e. toothpaste etc.

We have a conference room on the ground floor, which is accessed through the restaurant
Lighting is mainly natural day light from large windows at the back of the building
Please notify conference organizer in advance if any additional services are required, we do try to accommodate everyone’s needs where possible

Future Plans
We are looking to decorate the Restaurant after Easter 2010
From February 2010 we are starting decorating all of our bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms
We are having a new extractor fan installed in the kitchen (April 2010) and all new equipment
